At Pogo’s, peri-peri isn’t just a sauce. It’s part of the table, the braai, the stories, and the flavors we grew up with.

Our roots trace back to Harare, Zimbabwe, where bold food, good company, and a little bit of heat have always gone hand in hand. Pogo’s was created to share those flavors with more people—and to bring a taste of Southern Africa to tables across America.

Peri-peri has deep roots in Southern African cooking, where African and Portuguese influences came together to create something unmistakably delicious: bright citrus, garlic, herbs, spices, and the fiery African bird’s eye chili.

From Harare to America

Pogo’s story began in Zimbabwe, but in 2021, we brought that love of peri-peri to the United States.

What started as a way to share a flavor we knew and loved has grown into something bigger: a chance to introduce more people to the food, culture, and unmistakable warmth of Southern Africa.
 

And while Pogo’s continues to grow, we want to stay connected to where it all began.

That’s why you’ll see pieces of Southern Africa woven throughout our brand—from the flavors in our bottles to special products like our handmade African-print aprons, sewn in Zimbabwe.
